Cook The Book – The Launch
By Rachel Davies
Motherhood has been a roller-coaster.
Over the past nine months, I have got to know a new human being whose whims I cater for. I have changed nappies, tickled, cuddled and fed, dropped what I was doing to make this wonderful small human being happy, and all the while I have grappled with what this new role means for me and my identity. It’s been quite a ride.
One thing I miss most is playing around in the kitchen, and the luxury of endless time to experiment with cooking, trying new recipes and ingredients.
I’ve been thinking about that, and how to carve out some time to cook and experiment. I have rows of cookbooks on my shelves crying out to me, and so I have come up with a solution, and I’d love you to join me.
It’s called Cook the Book. Let me introduce you.
Cook the Book is a monthly book club with a difference. You come to my kitchen, and as part of a small group, we’ll cook from a bestselling cookbook. If you love food, and are open to trying some new recipes and discovering new flavours and dishes, this is for you.
We’ll cook, drink some wine, chat. I’ll demonstrate some dishes, and the rest we’ll make together. It will be a Sunday evening, and we’ll while away a few hours in a cosy kitchen. We’ll all learn something new, taste great food, and we can even decide on the following month’s book.
What do you think – do you want to join me?

To launch this new class, we’re starting off with an exciting cookbook – A Change of Appetite: Where Healthy Meets Delicious by Diana Henry
